This course will teach the basic operations of creating walls, windows, floors and laying out work on sheets.Students will learn the practical advantages of implementing the software in a work environment and how it can be used to integrate AutoCAD drawings.
At the end of the training, participants will be able to use Revit to model and draw a project through the design stages, analysis to documentation and visualization.

A. Duration
The duration of the programme is sixteen (16) hours, conducted once a week (2hours) for a period of 8 weeks.

B. Programme

The programme will consist of the following topics:

1. General Revit techniques
1.1 What is Revit?
1.2 Open Revit and start a new project using existing project templates, interface and       customization possibilities, switching views and 3D Navigation.
1.3 Learn about objects, elements, families, types and instances.
1.4 Organizing projects through visibility graphic settings, object styles and components.

2. Techniques specific to architectural drawing
2.1 Use development tools including how to draw walls, doors, windows, floors, stairs,       foundations, columns, beams etc
2.2 Load components and families and use the family editor

3. Presentation and documentation techniques
3.1 Set views and create elevations and sections
3.3 Arrange drawings in sheets for printing purposes
3.4 Annotate construction documents with dimensions, texts and dimensions
3.5 Add details lines and symbols.
3.6 Use the family editor to edit a symbol

4. Revit Project
4.1 Draw a small building project with Revit comprising the foundations, columns, walls,       windows, doors, beams, slabs, stairs.
4.2 Presentation on sheets for printing purposes with detailing and annotations.

C. WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Students, designers, draughtsmen, architects, interior decorators who wish to migrate from AutoCAD to Revit or learn how to use a BIM software so as to produce high quality, accurate building drawings.
