Ken’s Corner

I started teaching at the Lycée Polytechnique Sir Guy Forget in 1991 after my studies at the University of Mauritius in the field of Building and Civil Engineering and a passage in the building industry at Capital Construction Co Ltd.

From 1995 to 1996 I studied pedagogy at the ‘ENS de Cachan, Paris’.
In 2008 my spouse founded `Smartlearn Training Center’ and we built the entire hardware needed for computer courses with a specialization in AutoCAD 2D and 3D.
In 2010 I obtained a Masters in Computer Forensics and Information Security at the University of Technology, Mauritius.
Finally in 2017 I obtained further qualification at Masters level in ICT for Education (Technologie de l’information et de la Communication pour L’enseignement – Université de Cergy -Pontoise) at primary, secondary and tertiary level. In the meantime, I was appointed as head of department.

Today I hold extensive experience in teaching, pedagogy, draftsmanship, IT, computer hardware, AutoCAD, Revit and postmodern curriculum development.
I am a MQA registered Trainer in the field of CAD, Computer Science up to NQF level 8 for the period ending 2022. I also provide subject specialist help to the MQA in subject curriculum reviews for NQF qualifications.

In Jan 2022 I published a book on pedagogy for the LPSGF to help young teachers understand the basics of education and encourage more experienced ones to update their knowledge.

I am dedicated to helping and motivating people, students to fulfill their potential and prepare themselves for the skills and attitude required in the industrial world. In addition, my courses in AutoCAD/Revit include the development of cross disciplinary competences associated with the setting up of a CAD office.

I also encourage learners to engage in building and developing their careers  and give them an anchor point to start afresh.
